A Day of Creativity and Healing
On Monday, November 6th, under the clear blue skies at the Warriors Heart Lodge, veterans, first responders, and songwriters gathered for a day of healing and creativity. The beauty of the surroundings perfectly complemented the profound experiences shared and the incredible music created. Five new songs emerged from this retreat, each telling a unique story of strength and perseverance.
The Songs
- “Rock Bottom” Written by: Billy Seddon, Jr. and songwriter Dickie Kaiser
- “Still In The Fight” Written by: John Templer and songwriter Justin Heflin
- “Who Saves The Saver” Written by: Arianna Emmons and songwriter Jessee Lee
- “A Reason to Be” Written by: Gary Cheramie and songwriter David Lee

Each song created at the retreat reflects the dedication and determination of some of our country’s finest. These songs are not just pieces of music but powerful stories that encapsulate the personal journeys of the participants.
The Ongoing Impact of Warriors Heart
Warriors Heart continues to make a significant impact on the lives of veterans, first responders, and the Operation Song® team. The retreat has become so sought after among Warriors Heart clients that they often go to great lengths to secure a spot, even offering to pay each other off or provide favors to get on the list. This speaks volumes about the transformative power of these retreats and the deep desire for healing and connection.
Our Commitment
At the Journey Home Project, we are committed to supporting initiatives that provide healing and support to our veterans and first responders. Through our partnership with Operation Song® and Warriors Heart, we have helped create over 60 songs that have touched the lives of many. We are incredibly proud of the work done at these retreats and look forward to continuing this important mission.
A big “Thank You” goes out to David Corlew and everyone involved in making these retreats a success. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of those who have given so much for our country. Here’s to many more years of healing through music.
